Scarlet Spotlight

Scarlet Spotlight

Each month, Scarlet Guard recognizes an outstanding student who has made a difference through his or her contribution of time, talent and treasures in the classroom or within the Lincoln community.

  • Name: Sarah Frankel
  • Hometown: Omaha, Ne
  • Year: Sophomore (Junior in fall)
  • Major: English Literature; Political Science and Psychology Minors
  • Campus Activities: Scarlet Guard, NAA intern, ARA floor social chair
  • Hobbies: Reading, cooking and baking, hanging with friends, shopping with my two sisters
  • Favorite Quote(s): "A great social success is a pretty girl who plays her cards as carefully as if she were plain"-F. Scott Fitzgerald
"Success is often achieved by those who don't know that failure is inevitable"-Coco Chanel
  • Favorite Thing About SG: I have loved meeting so many people and having the opportunity to network with alumni professionals who have given me such great advice about how to succeed in a tough job market.
  • Highlight:  Along with being an intern at the Nebraska Alumni Association, Sarah took a lead role as co-chair of our inaugural Scarlet Guard reunion held on April 15, 2011.  She was responsible for the organization and communication with committee members from across the country. Sarah, along with Vice President Adam Brown, also created and gave the presentation that evening about our history as the student alumni association and where our organization is headed in the years to come. As a sophomore, Sarah already demonstrates all the qualities of a true leader and is a great asset to both the NAA as well as the Scarlet Guard Board of Directors. We’re lucky to have her back for two more years!
